Purple clay: The main raw material, commonly includes deep purple clay, refined purple clay, dark base clay, reddish-brown clay, and red-skinned clay. These clays are mainly sourced from Huanglong Mountain in Yixing, Jiangsu. For example, dark base clay was first extracted from Shaft No. 4 of Huanglong Mountain, and later from Shaft No. 5 and Taixi Mine.
Red clay: Includes vermilion clay and aged red clay. Mainly found in the mountainous areas surrounding Dingshu Town in Yixing. Vermilion clay is mined from Zhaozhuang Mountain and Huanglong Mountain.
Green clay: Includes original green clay, dark green clay, and beige clay (such as raw beige, speckled beige, and golden beige). These clays come from the mineral veins of Huanglong Mountain.
- Others: Such as black clay, sloped deposit clay, sky-blue clay, and bluish-grey clay. Sloped deposit clay was discovered during the construction of Taodu Road in Dingshu Town, while excavating between Huanglong and Qinglong Mountains."
